Aberrant expression of the dendritic cell marker TNFAIP2 by the malignant cells of Hodgkin lymphoma and primary mediastinal large B-cell lymphoma distinguishes these tumor types from morphologically and phenotypically similar lymphomas. Kondratiev S, Duraisamy S, Unitt CL, Green MR, Pinkus GS, Shipp MA, Kutok JL, Drapkin RI, Rodig SJ.

TNFα刺激培養細胞でupregulateされる蛋白。まだ不明の点が多いが、正常ではfollicular dendritic cells, interdigitating dendritic cells, macrophagesに陽性で、リンパ球には陰性。

腫瘍ではfollicular dendritic cell sarcoma、histiocytic sarcomaの他、 classical Hodgkin lymphoma(100%)、nodular lymphocyte-predominant Hodgkin lymphoma(100%)、primary mediastinal (thymic) large B-cell lymphoma(87%)にaberrant expressionがみられた。

一方、鑑別となるdiffuse large B-cell lymphomaにはほぼ陰性(4%のみ)、Burkitt lymphomaには11%、anaplastic large cell lymphomaの5%のみに陽性をみるのみ。

特にHodgkin lymphomaとprimary mediastinal (thymic) large B-cell lymphomaの診断には有用と思われる。
